  • I was born in California but grew up in the Pacific Northwest. When I was very young, my family moved to Portland Oregon. A few years later we moved to the Puget Sound region, near Seattle Washington. My father worked at the Puget Sound Naval shipyards. Then my family moved back to Portland when I was in grammer school. There I grew up and remained in the Portland area until 1981.

At age five I already had drawing skills. In school, I was asked to illustrate the school mascot to be printed on the school's sweatshirts and t-shirts. I also illustrated a romantic scene for the eight grade school dance. That was fun because I got out of class to work on the project! I graduated from Gresham high school, near Portland. In my Junior year, I participated in a state wide poster contest and won first place! That was a big deal for me back then. I got my picture in the local news paper,The Gresham Outlook.

In 1981 I moved to Seattle Washington and got an evening job at a law firm in Seattle. At that time I decided to further my art educatiion and enrolled at a design school, The Art Institute of Seattle. There I studied advertising and graphic design. A couple of years after graduating, I started freelance ad illustrations for a company in Seattle. I'm still doing ad illustrations for that company and do watercolor painting in between freelance jobs. Occasionally, I do freelance work for other companies. One of those was Sovereign Indian Nations in Denver Colorado. I painted a bald eagle for a display promoting insurance for native americans.

I am self taught with a large variety of art mediums, such as acrylics, oils, gouache, tempra, watercolor, color pencils, art markers, graphite pencil, pen/ink. My first experience with airbrush and computer graphics was at The Art Institute of Seattle, however the previous mediums were used at the school also.

I enjoy computer design work as well as illustration and painting. I will always be envolved with some kind of creativity whether it's watercolor painting and illustration or just creating beautiful things. I think it is important to create a pleasant atmosphere for our homes and work invironments. A pleasant surrounding just makes everyday life more enjoyable. I will be adding more paintings to my site as time allows, so check back to see what's new! Hope you enjoy browsing my site!
